ADAVANCED DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT (ADHM)

DURATION: 4 Semesters

OBJECTIVE: This course is designed to advance the trainees’ professional skills and  broaden students knowledge in Hospitality Operation, Management and to have a sound foundation for higher qualification in the hospitality professions and related disciplines.

COURSE STRUCTURE

This course is a one session course of two semesters. Spanning through the structure are courses of two parts combining both the major and elective courses where applicable.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

  • – Diploma; Professional Diploma in Hospitality Management from NIHOTOUR or any hospitality management related programme passed at lower credit load from recognized institutions.
  • – GCE/SSCE/NECO with four credit passes including a pass in English and Mathematics and two science subjects at not more than two sittings.

COURSE STRUCTURE:

  • – This programme is of 4 semesters duration.
  • – Upon completion of 2nd Semester, trainee proceed for 3 months compulsory work place attachment for industry experience. The trainee will have a work log book template to generate task performance evidence and report with strict supervision from supervisions from workplace and the Institute.
  • – The fourth Semester is more of practical activities aimed at imparting more skills to the trainees.
  • – Emphasis on practical exercises during lecture sessions is given top priority.
  • – Projects to be written should be entrepreneurial and or operational/ administrative in nature.

  • – Trainees go on industrial attachment upon completion of 1ST  semester for 8 weeks before commencement of second semester. The trainees should have a work place log book to enter daily work activity engaged upon and supervised by both work place and NIHOTOUR Supervisor.
  • – Emphasis on practical exercises during lecture sessions is given top priority.
  • – Projects to be written are entrepreneurial and or operational/administrative in nature.
